The Athina
Athina was built by Lagoon, now part of the Beneteau Group, and provides plenty of space to relax and enjoy sailing with an ever-present waterfront view. Designed by world renowned Mark Van Peteghem and Vincent Lauriot-Prevost, Lagoons remain one of the most popular and prestigious catamaran models around.
At 44 feet long and 25 feet wide, Athina offers three large outdoor areas to relax. The flybridge helm provides 360-degree views, while the open aft cockpit is protected under a rigid bimini top, and the bow trampolines are perfect for dozing. Inside, a spacious saloon provides a panoramic view and has a large L-shaped galley that faces the aft cockpit. A large dining table can be set either inside the saloon or in the aft cockpit and can comfortably accommodate six adults.
Built in the south of France over a decade ago, Athina spent her years cruising the Mediterranean. There she explored many quiet little corners, including the islands of Greece, which is where she found her name. With origins from the Greek goddess of wisdom and paired with unique spelling “Athina” is truly one of a kind.
She recently departed Europe and sailed across the Atlantic, calling on some other culturally rich ports along the way. Her journey, though long, is far from over as we have now brought her to the Great Lakes to share some of her wisdom.
